{"id":1912,"date":"2013-09-29T09:12:52","date_gmt":"2013-09-29T16:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gourmet.mygreatvet.com\/?p=1912"},"modified":"2013-09-29T09:14:23","modified_gmt":"2013-09-29T16:14:23","slug":"scottish-morning-rolls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gourmet.mygreatvet.com\/?p=1912","title":{"rendered":"Scottish Morning Rolls"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Recipe from <a title=\"The Breat Kitchen\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thebreadkitchen.com\/recipes\/scottish-morning-rolls-recipe\/\">The Bread Kitchen<\/a><\/div>\n<div><!--more--><\/div>\n<div>Ingredients<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li itemprop=\"ingredients\">450 g (16 oz) bread flour (or plain flour)<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"ingredients\">150 ml (5 fl oz) lukewarm milk<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"ingredients\">150 ml (5 fl oz) lukewarm water<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"ingredients\">2 tsp dried yeast<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"ingredients\">2 tsp salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>For the glaze<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li itemprop=\"ingredients\">Milk<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"ingredients\">Flour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Instructions<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Mix the yeast with the milk and leave to stand for 10 minutes to allow the yeast to activate.<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Sieve the flour and salt into a bowl. Make a well in the centre and pour in the milk and the water. Mix well to a smooth dough.<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Knead the dough in the bowl for 3-4 minutes. Cover and put in a warm place to allow the dough to double in size.<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Turn the dough out onto a lightly-floured surface and knock it back. Divide the dough into 10 pieces. Knead each piece for 30 seconds in your hand and make into a smooth ball.<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Grease two baking trays. Roll each ball out to a circle of 9 cm (3\u00bd\u201d) and place the circles onto the baking trays leaving a good space between the circles.<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Cover with oiled cling film or place the trays inside a large plastic bag. Leave in a warm place for around 45 minutes to let the rolls puff up.<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Press the centre of each roll very gently to distribute any air bubbles, brush lightly with milk and dust lightly with flour.<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Bake at 175\u00b0C\/350\u00b0F fan oven, 200\u00b0C\/390\u00b0F normal oven for 12-15 Minutes until the rolls begin to turn golden.<\/li>\n<li itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">Place the cooked rolls on a wire rack to cool.
