{"id":964,"date":"2010-07-04T21:07:33","date_gmt":"2010-07-05T04:07:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gourmet.mygreatvet.com\/?p=964"},"modified":"2010-07-04T21:07:33","modified_gmt":"2010-07-05T04:07:33","slug":"french-bread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gourmet.mygreatvet.com\/?p=964","title":{"rendered":"French Bread"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<p>* 2 packages active dry yeast<br \/>\n* 2 1\/2 cups water (105F to 115 F)<br \/>\n* 1 tablespoon salt<br \/>\n* 1 tablespoon melted margarine or butter<br \/>\n* 7 cups all-purpose flour<br \/>\n* 2 tablespoons cornmeal<br \/>\n* 1 egg white<br \/>\n* 1 tablespoon cold water<\/p>\n<p>Directions<\/p>\n<p>1.Dissolve yeast in warm water in warmed mixer bowl.<br \/>\n2.Add salt, butter, and flour.<br \/>\n3.Attach bowl&amp; dough hook to mixer, turn to Speed 2 and mix about 1 minute or until well blended.<br \/>\n4.Knead on Speed 2 about 2 minutes longer.<br \/>\n5.Dough will be sticky.<br \/>\n6.Put dough in large greased bowl, turning to coat.<br \/>\n7.Cover and let rise in warm place, free from draft, about 1 hour, or until doubled in bulk.<br \/>\n8.Punch dough down and divide in half.<br \/>\n9.Roll each half into 12&#8243; x 15&#8243; rectangle.<br \/>\n10.Roll dough tightly, from longest side, tapering ends, if needed\/wanted.<br \/>\n11.Put loaves on greased baking sheets that have been dusted with cornmeal.<br \/>\n12.Cover and let rise in warm place, free from draft, about 1 hour, or until doubled in bulk.<br \/>\n13.With sharp knife, make 4 diagonal cuts on top of each loaf.<br \/>\n14.Bake at 450F for 25 minutes, then remove from oven.<br \/>\n15.Beat egg white and water together and brush each loaf with this mix.<br \/>\n16.Return to the oven and bake 5 minutes longer.<br \/>\n17.Immediately remove from baking sheets and cool on wire racks.<\/p>\n<p>Serve with your favorite spread such as herbed butter, garlic bread topping, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Kitchenaid mixer recipe found on RecipeZaar.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients * 2 packages active dry yeast * 2 1\/2 cups water (105F to 115 F) * 1 tablespoon salt * 1 tablespoon melted margarine or butter * 7 cups all-purpose flour * 2 tablespoons cornmeal * 1 egg white * 1 tablespoon cold water Directions 1.Dissolve yeast in warm water in warmed mixer bowl.
